REPLICATION
The CRAFT-IT4SD Replication Meta-Ecosystem invites cultural and creative ecosystems across Europe to explore how the project’s methodology, knowledge, tools, and learnings can be adapted to their own local contexts.
CRAFT-IT4SD does not propose a fixed model to be copied. Instead, it offers a flexible pathway for territories, organizations, and creative communities interested in connecting craft, cultural heritage, digital innovation, sustainability, circularity, and new business models.
Through this new section, ecosystems will be able to learn more about the CRAFT-IT4SD replication approach, access useful resources, and gain visibility as part of a growing European community committed to sustainable creative transformation.
What is the CRAFT-IT4SD replication meta-ecosystem?
The CRAFT-IT4SD Replication Meta-Ecosystem is conceived as an ecosystem of ecosystems: a connected network of territories, organizations, initiatives, and key actors working towards greener, fairer, and more culturally grounded creative economies.
Building on the experience of the CRAFT-IT4SD pilot clusters, the Replication Meta-Ecosystem aims to make the project’s methodology and know-how accessible to other cultural and creative ecosystems. It supports them in reflecting on their own starting point, identifying opportunities and challenges, mobilizing relevant stakeholders, and adapting the CRAFT-IT4SD approach to their own needs and capacities.
The replication process is structured around six main strands:
- Green legislation as an innovation catalyst
- Open platforms and technology-related resources
- Learning communities
- Ethical and fair approaches
- New business models for circularity and sufficiency
- Sustainable innovation through living heritage, material intelligence, and technology.
Together, these strands provide a flexible framework that each ecosystem can interpret and activate according to its own context, priorities, and sustainability challenges.

Ecosystems will be included in a dedicated map showcasing the emerging CRAFT-IT4SD Meta-Ecosystem across Europe. This will help make visible the territories, organizations, and creative communities interested in advancing sustainability-driven innovation through craft, heritage, technology, and new business models.
The Meta-Ecosystem will create opportunities for exchange, inspiration, and collaboration among territories and organizations facing similar challenges and opportunities in the green transition of the Cultural and Creative Sectors and Industries.
Participating ecosystems will be able to engage with the CRAFT-IT4SD Replication Pathway, including practical resources, methodological guidance, and tools developed through the project.

Ecosystems engaging with the replication process will be recognized through the CRAFT-IT4SD Seal, acknowledging their participation and their commitment to exploring the project’s methodology.
Selected ecosystems may have the opportunity to connect with the CRAFT-IT4SD Exhibition, “Crafting Futures”, taking place in Oulu, Finland, from 27 to 29 October 2026.
