- A pioneering initiative to prepare the fashion industry for new regulatory, environmental, and social challenges
- The training series will kick off on February 20 and run until April 24.
Sustainability has become a key factor for the competitiveness of the textile industry. To provide the necessary tools to tackle new environmental and regulatory challenges, the Catalan Fashion Cluster (MODACC) is launching the training series «From Challenge to Opportunity», a set of sessions designed to help businesses and professionals integrate sustainability into their business models.
This program, which combines practical workshops and specialized training, aims to turn industry challenges into growth opportunities for SMEs and professionals in the textile and fashion sector. The sessions will cover key topics such as eco-design, traceability, reporting, artificial intelligence, modular design, and life cycle assessment (LCA).
A comprehensive program to transform the fashion industry
The series will include both in-person and online sessions, led by experts in sustainability and innovation. Through these workshops, participants will gain access to technical knowledge, strategic tools, and real-world case studies to move towards more sustainable and competitive business models.
The program will begin on February 20 with an in-person activation workshop at the Igualada Fashion Lab, offering a systemic view of sustainability in fashion. On February 24, an online session will focus on the application of artificial intelligence in the textile industry, a key tool for improving business competitiveness.
On March 5, the focus will be on reporting, with a workshop tailored for SMEs to help them comply with the CSRD regulations. This will be followed by a training session on March 10, covering traceability and transparency in the supply chain, crucial aspects for ensuring sustainability in the industry. The March 19 workshop will center on strategic sustainability communication, while the March 26 session will provide a practical guide to developing effective sustainability strategies.
In-person sessions will resume on April 9 with a hands-on eco-design workshop at MODACC headquarters, where participants will learn strategies to reduce the environmental impact of products. On April 16, an online session will focus on life cycle assessment (LCA) and its practical applications. The training series will conclude on April 24 with a final in-person workshop at the Igualada Fashion Lab, focusing on modular design and its application in making products more adaptable and sustainable.
Moving towards a more sustainable business model
With this initiative, the Catalan Fashion Cluster (MODACC) reinforces its commitment to sustainability in the fashion industry, providing practical training that enables companies to anticipate regulatory changes, optimize processes, and develop innovative strategies.
The program is open to professionals and SMEs across the entire fashion and textile value chain, equipping them to lead the transition towards more responsible fashion practices.
These training sessions are part of the European CRAFT-IT4SD project, an initiative that promotes sustainable innovation in cultural and creative industries through training, collaboration, and the development of strategic tools for businesses and professionals in the sector.
