CRAFT-IT4SD 2nd Plenary Meeting: Co-Creating Sustainable Futures in Iași

On May 22–23, 2025, the CRAFT-IT4SD project will hold its second plenary meeting at the Faculty of Industrial Design and Business Management at the “Gheorghe Asachi” Technical University of Iași (TUIASI), Romania. This event will bring together consortium partners, experts in Cultural and Creative Sectors and Industries (CCSI), and local stakeholders to reflect on the project’s progress and co-design strategies that foster innovation and sustainability in sectors such as textiles, leather, and digital crafts.

As the host institution, TUIASI will offer participants valuable insight into its educational model, research practices, and the broader creative ecosystem of Iași. The event will serve as a platform not only for reviewing project milestones, but also for deepening understanding of how regional actors—from universities to SMEs to local artisans—contribute to the transformation of traditional crafts through digital tools and sustainable practices.

The two-day meeting will offer a dynamic and participatory programme, blending field visits, thematic discussions, and collaborative workshops. Participants will engage with a range of topics spanning sustainability, emerging technologies, ethics, and business models within the creative and cultural industries. Through a mix of site visits, knowledge-sharing activities, and interactive formats, the plenary meeting fosters a rich environment for reflection, exchange, and co-creation. The programme also includes opportunities to explore the local ecosystem and creative networks of Iași, further grounding the project’s work in real-world practice and regional innovation.

This consortium meeting reinforces CRAFT-IT4SD’s commitment to driving sustainable innovation and entrepreneurship across the creative industries. It also strengthens cross-sector dialogue and positions the project’s learning ecosystems as catalysts for inclusive education, capacity building, and forward-looking policy in the cultural and creative sectors.
